It would not be a surprise seeing blockchain use in facebook. The users would be logging in to Facebook with blockchain-based authentication soon and facebooks chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has indicated this too. In a public interview given by Havard's Law Professor Jonathan Zittrain, Zuckberg admitted that he is interested to login Facebook through blockchain technology. Zuckerberg says that he is thinking of back decentralization or blockchan authentication, although he has not been able to fully develop the method of implementing it, but basically it would be used for providing access to information and various services.

Blockchain will give more power to users when they allow the third-party data access. Facebook promoted one of its senior engineer Evan Chen last year and appointed the newly appointed Blockchain division's Engineering director.

It should be noted that earlier in May, Facebook had formed a group to find out the possibility of blockchain technology within the company. Many of the media reports says that Facebook is developing its own cryptocurrency also. Facebook has 2.3 billion users worldwide and by launching a cryptocurrency, they will be able to pay in virtual currency like Bitcoin. Facebook has plans to add a new Privacy Control feature to its Android app which will prevent users from collecting information about their background location and saving.
